BUILD A BRIDGE! That’s right! Build a bridge! It does not make any difference how old you are, if you are a grandparent, you should be engaged everyday in building bridges to your grandchildren. God has given you the most important job you can do at this stage in life. No one else has the special privilege of influencing your grandchildren more than you do. The relationship with this new generation can be unbelievably precious and important. In most cases, you're not their disciplinarian. You are their model in such things as good manners, prayer habits, Bible reading, service to God and giving. You help establish family traditions. You become a friend who will influence a child for the rest of his/her life. You can talk to them about things not even a parent seems to be able to touch. And, whether you realize it or not, they are listening and watching. It is your responsibility and privilege to pass on to this new generation something they will never forget; the love of a godly grandparent.

So, start building that bridge today. Ask God to help you find a way into your grandchild’s heart.
