LIVING OUT OUR FAITH. One of the greatest challenges facing seniors today is the
necessity of living our lives in such a way that people will truly recognize Jesus Christ
in us. "Christ in us" is more than a good sentimental thought or popular
cliché. It is truly a lifestyle that Christ yearns to have the younger generation see and
model. Unfortunately, some seniors are grouchy, complaining, harboring doubts and fears,
and some times they are a real burden to pastors. How much better when we can come along
side of our pastor and support him with encouraging words, thank him for faithfully
preaching the Word, assure him that we are praying for him daily, and that we are ready to
volunteer our services in the church! Do you want your pastor to listen to your view
point? Then, make sure he knows you appreciate him and the pressures he endures. Some of
my best partners in ministry have always been seniors who stood shoulder to shoulder with
me in the battle.
